“Government wishes to use the opportunity of this announcement to inform the public particularly commercial and private motorcycle operators that the order on compulsory use of crash helmet is still in force,” the statement read.
“The use of life jackets and vests is also compulsory for all commuters using canoes and boats as means of transport,” it added.
“Government also, by this announcement, advises mothers traveling with their children to avoid using motorcycles but to enter tricycles, taxis or buses to ensure their safety.”
“Violators of these directives would have themselves to blame as law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure strict compliance.”
